Dr. Ed Gordon "More & Better: Preventing a Workforce Meltdown"
Program Description: Outsourcing and relocation are bleeding away American jobs overseas. Yet, in the United States experienced tech workers are retiring, and new skilled people are in short supply. There are far too few educational programs preparing students for tech careers, and training for current workers is largely inadequate in equipping them with the skills needed for coping with future demands. Ed Gordon explores how some local communities in the United States are preparing for the future by forming alliances of community organizations, businesses, and educators to equip the current workforce and the next generation of workers with the skills required for the high-tech workplace.
